Postgraduate Research
Welcome to the 2009 Academic Year
(Have you completed your enrolment for 2009?) http://www.grs.unsw.edu.au/currentstudents/currenthome.html
If you are new to Postgraduate research at UNSW there are induction programs available from the Graduate Research School – follow from the link above.
The POWCS postgraduate seminars will commence on Thursday 5th March. Seminars are held on a fortnightly basis. ALL students are expected to attend and participate in seminar discussion. An attendance register is kept and this aids in assessing student progress and eligibility for future scholarships and travel grants.
The Annual Review process for postgraduate students enrolled in POWCS has been reconsidered and a new process will commence in 2009.
Occupational Health & Safety
UNSW has strict requirements regarding Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S). All postgraduate students are required to complete OH&S Awareness Training. This is a basic introductory course but if you are working in a laboratory, there are further requirements for training. More details will be provided at the first seminar on 5th March. The types of courses available are listed at: http://www.hr.unsw.edu.au/ohswc/ohs/ohs_training_courses.html.
