Clinical placements for non-UNSW students are referred to as Clerkships. The compulsory component for UNSW students is referred to as Elective Term or Elective.
Clerkships (for non-UNSW Students)
Prince of Wales Clinical School regularly hosts undergraduate students under the UNSW Faculty of Medicine Clinical
Clerkships Scheme.
Subject to availability and satisfactory completion of
UNSW application procedures, placements are available in the following fields of adult medicine:

- Anaesthetics
- Cardiology
- Emergency Department
- Endocrinology
- Gastric Medicine
- General Surgery
- Geriatric Medicine
- Haematology

Electives at Prince of Wales Clinical School offer excellent learning opportunities at a location close to the University of New South Wales and the south-eastern beachside suburbs of Sydney. They are highly sought after and must be applied for well in advance through the UNSW Faculty of Medicine.
On campus accommodation is not available though temporary accommodation of various types and prices is available nearby.
Electives (for UNSW Students)
The Elective Term is a compulsory component of the UNSW undergraduate medicine program.
