There are two main areas of interest. One is in clinical infectious diseases and the other is clinical ethics. Often these two intersect.The current research projects involve clinical pathways in relation to diabetic foot infections, vaccinations in bone marrow transplant recipients and clinical ethics - particularly looking at consent.

The epidemiology of cancer in relation to immunodeficient states, such as HIV/AIDS infection, solid organ transplantation, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and primary immune deficiency. The epidemiology and prevention of cancer, in particular lymphoma. Epidemiological methods, with an emphasis on exposure assessment. Ongoing interest in malignancies associated with sun exposure, in particular, melanoma of the eye.
