Tumour tissue banks are vital for cancer research. The Lowy Cancer Research Centre has purpose-built, state of the art biorepository facilities for the reception and processing of human biospecimens. The Lowy Biorepository contains biospecimens, including blood and tissue samples, taken with consent from both healthy individuals and patients diagnosed with cancer. Clinical information from the donors is also collected and linked to the specimens via a secure, web accessible database. The aim of the biorepository is to provide translational cancer researchers with high quality biospecimens and related clinical data, in order to facilitate discoveries that will lead to improvements in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Mission Statement

The Lowy Biorepository aims to support cancer research by providing access to relevant, high quality and well-annotated biospecimens.
