Biostatistics Scholarships

Prince of Wales Clinical School is committed to supporting its higher degree students and maximising the quality of research outputs. The postgraduate interviews highlighted the need to improve opportunities for training in statistics and for this reason we have offered the biostatistics training scholarships since 2010.

The biostatistics training scholarships will cover the registration fee for a 3-day short course entitled ‘Statistical methods for research workers’. This course is run by the School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW and is highly regarded, covering applied biostatistics of benefit to all postgraduate students undertaking data analysis. The course is designed as an overview of statistical design and analysis for researchers – emphasis is on understanding the concepts of statistical procedures and on interpreting computer output. POWCS has reserved four places in this course as entry to this program is highly sought after.

The next 3-day course will be offered 7-9 November 2016. Duration: 3 days, 9.30am - 5.00pm

We encourage all students and supervisors to discuss this opportunity for future applications.
