Candidature and Supervision Requirements
All postgraduate students must familiarise themselves with the requirements of the Prince of Wales Clinical School and their responsibilities.
Postgraduate Research Seminars - Students must present once a year during a full-day seminar. Supervisors are expected to attend and support their student. Students and supervisors will be notified in the new year of the date.
Progress Reviews - All students and at least the primary/administrative supervisor are required to attend a review of the student's progress once a year, or more often as needed. The student is responsible for coordinating their supervisor(s) attendance with the panel's availability. Joint or co-supervisors are encouraged to attend, and may be requested to do so by the panel on a case by case basis. Also, all students and supervisors are required to provide any follow-up information or updates as requested.
Research Publications - All students must include 'Prince of Wales Clinical School, UNSW' in the list of affiliations on any publications worked on during their candidature. They also are required to lodge any published books, chapters, journal articles, conference papers etc in the online UNSW database for research publications - called ROS - as part of their candidature. Students should be able to login using their student zID and password (same as with MyUNSW). WHS training - All students are required to complete all mandatory UNSW Workplace Health and Safety training courses, as determined by their supervisor. Students can register for WHS training through MyUNSW.
Human Research Ethics - All students conducting any form of human research (even peripherally) must attend the Faculty-supported seminar.
